Electrolysis in Miami: Bay Harbor Islands, Miami Beach and North Miami
If you are looking for electrolysis in Miami, you probably already know what you do not want: another waxing, another razor, another cream that leaves a dark mark behind. Electrolysis removes the hair itself, permanently, and it works on every hair color, including white, gray, blonde and red hairs that laser cannot see. Eva Taub has done this work for more than 40 years, and she treats every client herself at her clinic in Bay Harbor Islands, a few minutes from Miami Beach, North Miami and Aventura.
Electrolysis near Miami Beach, North Miami and Aventura
The clinic is at 1160 Kane Concourse #302, Bay Harbor Islands, FL 33154, by appointment only. There are no assistants and no rotating staff. The person you talk to in your free consultation is the person who treats you.
Who it is for
White or gray hairs on the chin that laser skips. New coarse hairs on the chin, lip or jaw after 40. Hair that comes with PCOS, perimenopause or menopause. Hairs left behind after laser that is finished. Women of every skin tone, including Black and dark skin, which needs a careful technique.
Why skin tone changes the technique
Dark skin reacts to heat and irritation by making extra pigment, so a burn, a scratch or even plucking can turn into a dark mark that lasts for months. For Black and dark skin Eva uses a fully insulated needle: it is insulated along the whole shaft and only the tip is exposed. The heat stays at the tip, where the follicle is, and the skin above it is protected. The needle size is chosen by the hair: thicker for coarse hair, thinner for fine hair, and a thinner needle is also more comfortable.
How electrolysis works
A very fine needle is placed into the hair follicle, a small amount of heat is delivered, and the hair is lifted out. Each hair is treated one at a time. It works best on hairs in their growing stage, and not every hair is in that stage on the same day, which is why the same area needs repeated visits.
Does electrolysis hurt?
Yes, honestly. It is more uncomfortable than laser. Many women use a numbing cream on a small area, applied about an hour before and covered with plastic wrap, following the instructions on the label. Eva will tell you plainly what to expect before you decide anything.
How long does it take?
Electrolysis is slow, because every hair is treated individually. An area can take about an hour, while a laser clears the same area in minutes. If anyone promises you will be finished in three or four visits, they do not understand the process.
Laser first, electrolysis last
If your hair is still dark, laser is faster. Laser sees color, and white is not a color, so it cannot treat white, gray or very pale fine hair. That is where electrolysis comes in, usually at the end. Read more: Laser or electrolysis: which one do you need?
Hormonal hair keeps coming back. Why?
For many women the hair is caused by hormones: PCOS, perimenopause, menopause and other conditions. Treating the hair does not switch the hormones off, so new hairs can keep waking up. Eva looks at the cause as well as the hair, and tells you honestly when a doctor should look at it too.
Questions women ask
Is electrolysis permanent? Yes, each follicle that is destroyed does not grow hair again. Because hair grows in cycles, it takes repeated visits to reach all of them.
Can electrolysis remove white or gray facial hair? Yes. It is the method for white, gray, blonde and red hair, because it does not depend on color.
Is electrolysis safe on Black skin? It can be, when it is done by a trained professional with the right needle and a careful technique. Ask what needle will be used.
How much does it cost? It depends on the area and the hair. The first conversation is free.
Do you also see clients in Georgia? Yes, in Newnan, near Atlanta. See electrolysis in Newnan and the Bay Harbor Islands clinic page.
