Hormonal Facial Hair and Dark Marks Specialist for Black, Hispanic and White Women: Hormonal Skin Studio, Miami
Do you have unwanted hair on your face, or dark marks, from a hormonal imbalance?
Hormonal facial hair and dark marks for Black, Hispanic and white women: PCOS, endometriosis, Cushing’s, hirsutism and menopause. Bay Harbor Islands, Miami.
Hormonal Skin Studio is Eva Taub’s private studio in Bay Harbor Islands, Miami. It is for women whose hormones show up on their face and skin: PCOS, endometriosis, Cushing’s syndrome, hirsutism, thyroid problems, perimenopause and menopause. It is for the woman who has been shaving, plucking, waxing and covering up for years, and who wants someone who understands what the hormones are doing to the hair and to the skin.
Eva has specialized in Black and dark skin for more than 40 years, since before she came to the United States. She treats Black, Haitian, Caribbean, Hispanic and white women, and every shade in between. She chooses the laser, the needle and the technique for your skin tone, and she does every treatment herself.
Is this you?
- You shave, pluck or wax your chin, upper lip or jaw, and the hair is back in days.
- Your chin is darker than the rest of your face, and it is rough or bumpy.
- You get ingrown hairs that keep coming back and leave dark marks.
- You have PCOS, endometriosis, Cushing’s, hirsutism, thyroid problems or menopause, and nobody has looked at your skin and hair.
- You were told “it is just your hormones” and sent home with a pill and no answer for the hair on your face.
- You tried laser and the hair came back, or the laser left dark or light marks.
- You wear heavy foundation to cover your chin, and you avoid bright light and close conversations.
- You are a mother who sees her teenage daughter hiding her chin.
Who I built this studio for
Most clinics treat one piece of the problem. A laser clinic removes hair. A spa sells a peel. A doctor prescribes pills. Nobody connects the hormones, the hair, the plucking, the ingrown hairs and the dark marks. I built this studio for women who need all of it understood together, and who want to be treated by the person who has been doing this for 40 years.
It is for every woman whose hormonal imbalance shows on her face, whatever her skin tone: Black, Hispanic, Caribbean, Haitian, white. Hormones do not choose a color. What changes is the plan. Black and dark skin needs the most care, because the wrong laser, the wrong needle and the wrong advice do the most harm there, and that is where Eva’s 40 years count the most. Hispanic skin, olive and tan skin react to irritation in their own way too, and Eva chooses the laser and the technique for yours.
Why dark skin needs a different plan
The cycle is the same for most women I see. Hormones wake up hair on the chin and jaw. She plucks, waxes or shaves it. The follicle gets inflamed. The hair grows back under the skin. Dark skin answers every injury by making extra pigment, so the chin gets darker, rougher and bumpier. Then she covers it with makeup and starts again.
You cannot fix that with a cream alone, and you cannot fix it with a laser alone. The plan has to remove the hair safely, stop the irritation, and then treat the dark marks slowly and gently, because dark skin does not like to be rushed.
What Eva treats here
- Hormonal facial hair and hirsutism on the chin, lip, jaw, neck, sideburns and cheeks, from PCOS, Cushing’s syndrome, thyroid problems, insulin resistance, endometriosis, perimenopause and menopause.
- Laser hair removal for dark skin, for dark and coarse hair, with a laser and settings chosen for your skin.
- Electrolysis for white, gray, blonde, red and very fine hair that laser cannot see, with the needle chosen for dark skin.
- Dark marks and discoloration left by plucking, waxing, razor bumps, acne and ingrown hairs.
- Ingrown hairs and razor bumps on the face, underarms and bikini area.
- Honest guidance on when a doctor should look at your hormones. Eva does not treat the disease, and she never replaces your doctor.
What makes Eva different
- 40 years of hands-on work with dark skin, since before she came to the United States.
- Every treatment is performed personally by Eva. No assistants, no rotating staff.
- She looks at the whole cycle: the hair, the hormones, the habits and the dark marks.
- She explains why a past treatment failed, and tells you plainly what laser can and cannot do.
- Her only daughter lived with PCOS from age 14 and stage 4 endometriosis, so she understands what hormonal skin and hair do to a woman’s confidence.
What I don’t do
- I do not promise that every hair will be gone forever. With hormonal hair, nobody can promise that honestly.
- I do not sell IPL as laser, or use one machine for every skin tone.
- I do not pressure you into a package on the first visit.
- I do not diagnose or treat PCOS, endometriosis or thyroid disease. That belongs to your doctor.
Who should not come here
This is not a Groupon business. If you are looking for the cheapest possible price, a coupon, a package sold in five minutes, or a quick spa visit with whoever is free that day, this is not the right place.
This is a private clinic. Every woman is treated for her own unique problem, with her own plan. Every treatment is done by one person only, and that person is Eva Taub. No assistants, no technicians, no rotating staff.
What to expect at your first visit
- You talk and Eva listens. Your history with plucking, waxing, laser, creams and your hormones.
- Eva looks at your skin and hair. What kind of hair, what color, how dark the marks are, how your skin reacts.
- You get an honest plan. Which tool fits you, what is realistic, what should wait, and when you should see your doctor.
- No pressure. You decide whether and when to start.
Questions women ask Eva
Why do I have chin hair?
Hair on the chin, jaw and upper lip is almost always a hormone signal, not a hygiene problem. Every woman makes androgens, and when they run higher, or the follicles on the face are more sensitive to them, hair grows thick and dark. PCOS, thyroid problems, insulin resistance, pregnancy and menopause can all do it.
Why do I have ingrown hairs that keep coming back?
When you shave, pluck or wax, the hair can grow back curled under the skin. The follicle gets inflamed, and on dark skin every inflamed bump also leaves a dark mark. The way out is to stop the repeated injury, usually by removing the hair permanently or much longer, and then treat the marks.
Why is my chin getting darker?
Plucking, waxing, threading and shaving inflame the follicle, and dark skin answers inflammation with extra pigment. The more often you do it, the darker the chin gets. Creams alone do not work if the pulling continues.
Why did laser hair removal not work for me?
Common reasons are the wrong laser or settings for dark skin, hormones that keep waking new hairs, sessions spaced wrongly, plucking or waxing between sessions, and white, gray or very fine hair that laser cannot see. “It did not work” usually means the cause was never looked at.
What is the best laser for dark skin?
For dark skin Eva trusts the long-pulse Nd:YAG. But the settings, the cooling and the hands behind the laser matter as much as the machine. Ask who runs it and how long she has treated dark skin.
Does electrolysis hurt more than laser? Which is faster?
Electrolysis does hurt, because a fine needle treats each follicle, one hair at a time. Laser treats a large area in minutes. Eva uses laser wherever the hair is dark enough, and electrolysis for white, gray, blonde and fine hair.
What needle is safe for electrolysis on dark skin?
On dark skin Eva uses a needle that is insulated along the shaft with only the tip exposed, so the heat stays where the follicle is and the skin around it is protected. Always ask what needle a provider uses on dark skin.
Will my facial hair go away if I fix my hormones?
Balancing your hormones can slow new hair, and Eva encourages every woman to work with her doctor on that. But the hairs that are already there do not simply disappear. The best plan is both: your doctor looks after the hormones, and the existing hair is removed safely.
How long do dark marks take to fade on dark skin?
Usually months, not days. Dark skin has to be treated gently and slowly, with sun protection every day, and the cause must stop, or the marks keep coming back. Taking a photo every month is the honest way to see progress.
What is hirsutism, and is it the same as PCOS?
Hirsutism means thick, dark hair growing on a woman in places where men usually grow hair, such as the chin, upper lip, jaw, chest and stomach. It is a sign, not a diagnosis. PCOS is the most common cause, but Cushing’s syndrome, thyroid and adrenal problems, insulin resistance and menopause can also cause it. Your doctor finds the cause. Eva treats the hair and the skin.
Do Cushing’s, PCOS or endometriosis cause facial hair?
PCOS and Cushing’s syndrome are well known for raising the hormones that grow facial hair, and women with endometriosis often live with hormonal imbalance too. If you have sudden or fast hair growth, weight changes, or other symptoms, please see your doctor. Once your doctor is looking after the hormones, Eva can safely remove the hair that is already there.
Do you treat Hispanic and white women, or only Black women?
Every woman with hormonal facial hair and dark marks is welcome: Black, Hispanic, Caribbean, Haitian and white. Eva has specialized in Black and dark skin for over 40 years, and she brings that care to every skin tone, because the right laser and the right needle depend on your skin.
Do you treat women who travel from other cities?
Yes. Women come from Palm Beach, Fort Pierce, Orlando and the Caribbean. See the travel pages below.
