This is where I start clients who are new to acid-based treatment and dealing with early discoloration — dark spots after breakouts, dull or congested skin, mild unevenness. Mandelic acid is slow-penetrating and far gentler than stronger acids, which matters enormously on melanin-rich skin, where an aggressive acid can trigger the exact dark-mark response you're trying to fix. There's no bleaching agent or hydroquinone in it, at any point.

This is a starter system, not a deep-correction protocol. If your discoloration is melasma specifically, deep, or long-standing, or tangled up with ingrown hairs or a hormonal condition, read the Hyperpigmentation & Melasma page first — this kit is still the right foundation, but you may need more layered in with it.
